Govt Launches ‘Uraan Pakistan’: A 5-Year Plan to Transform the Economy
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially launched the “Uraan Pakistan: Homegrown National Economic Plan,” a comprehensive five-year strategy aimed at addressing Pakistan’s key economic challenges.
Unveiled in Islamabad, the plan for 2024-29 revolves around the “Five Es” framework:
1: Exports – Doubling exports through strategic initiatives.
2: E-Pakistan – Accelerating the digital transformation of the economy.
3: Equity and Empowerment – Ensuring social justice and economic empowerment.
4: Environment, Food, and Water Security – Tackling pressing sustainability challenges.
5: Energy and Infrastructure – Building modern energy solutions and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif previously emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach for this initiative. He urged the Ministry of Trade to devise export strategies in partnership with leading entrepreneurs and stakeholders to maximize results.
The launch event was attended by key figures, including Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, all of whom spoke on the significance of the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative in steering the country towards economic stability and growth.
